Wonderful DreamsChuck Jones once said, "It is as though the first creature to emerge from the primeval slime was Albert Einstein, and the second was an amoeba, because after McCay's animation, it took his followers nearly twenty years to find out how he did it." Athough many of you may recognize Chuck Jones as the father of the Looney Tunes, few of you may even recognize the name Winsor McCay. McCay stands at the forefront of American artistry. His works as a comic artist gave depth to an otherwise shallow industry. He still stands as my favorite artist. His largest claim to fame lies in the strip Little Nemo in Slumberland.
